Type locality:
Tosa Bay, Japan.
Etymology:
The specific name is derived from the Latin striola, dim, referring to the numerous striae on the thoracic sternites.
Size:
Males, 6.0-24.3 mm; females, 7.2-19.7 mm; ovigerous females from 7.2 mm.
Color:
<p>Body generally orange-brown, posterior abdomen and tailfan whitish. P1 distributed with minute red dots, with tips of fingers whitish. P2–4 dactyli whitish.</p>

Indonesia, Taiwan, and Japan; 146–355 m.
