East African coast, 1°48´N, 45°42´E, 1644 m.
Males to 19.0 mm, females to 21.3 mm, ovigerous females from 15.0 mm (Macpherson, 2007; Osawa et al., 2008a).
Known from the East African coast (type locality), Mozambique Channel, Kumanonada off Kii Peninsula, Japan, Moluccas off northwest Sulawesi, the Palawan Passage, and off Central Queensland, 1040-1600 m. Madagascar, at 1000–1640 m and Solomon Islands, at 1200–1218 m.
Sand mixed with coral or with globigerina and pteropods.
